WHY WE NEED ISO 9001 CERTIFICATION

Since we opened our doors, Pakko has been on a mission to be the world’s most versatile cardboard manufacturer.  Yes, the world.

It’s a big call for any company. Let alone a cardboard company in Geebung, Queensland!

When we started in 2017 with 5 employees, we had no idea where our journey would lead.

Today, we employ 24 full time packaging professionals and our CEO recently won one of Australia’s most prestigious business awards, The Telstra Best of Business Awards 2022.

As we strive to make a meaningful contribution to the Australian manufacturing industry, we know quality assurance is important for customers and suppliers, so we chose to become ISO9001 Certified.

Going Global

Taking its name from the Greek word, “isos” which translates to equal, ISO is a group of 162 nations headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland and focused on the development of standardised management system, services, manufacturing process and procedures.

The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) has established many types of industry certifications to equalise manufacturing, production and procedural standards for companies around the globe.  ISO9001 Certification is just one of them, and it’s highly focused on the manufacturing industry.

What does ISO 9001 mean for Pakko?

Our business purpose is guided by our values.  We want to create a respectful, honest and multi-culturally inclusive workplace, while raising the profile of the Australian Manufacturing and packaging industry.

The Certification gives our business global credibility and allows us to participate in projects that we might not, others have qualified for and allows our team at Pakko to continue on our trajectory to make a positive impact to our people, community and the industry.

ISO9001 Certification helps us at Pakko by:

– Increasing Efficiency

With the implementation of new quality management systems and resource management, the whole process of doing business becomes more effective.

– Better Branding

Certification with a global organisation like ISO signals to global partners that we take our business and production seriously.  It definitely raises the reputation stakes and positions us as a professional business whose standards are globally approved.

– Increases Engagement and Respect

With Certification comes industry respect and increased engagement from our team.  We know that our team are proud to be part of a business who is now ISO9001 certified.

What it ISO9001 Certification means for Pakko in the Future

With our ISO9001 Certification, our team now has greater opportunities to explore including:

  • We can apply for Australian Government Tender Projects

  • We can collaborate with Global Multi-nationals who are contractually required to work with ISO-compliant collaborators

  • We have reaffirmed our commitment to high quality cardboard packaging standards to all our existing customers

  • Keep our own production line consistently constant in terms of all quality management systems

  • Provide exceptional customer service and care throughout the entire packaging process and in the post-sale period

  • Implement a production and manufacture system that is second to none.

Now, we have a set of systems in place that reflect our brand values and will ensure that we continue to exceed the needs of our customers.

At the same time, we will be able to monitor, review and adapt to changing industry standards, protecting our teams through the latest safety measures and continue to create a positive profile for the Australian Manufacturing Industry.
